
Cairo, Egypt, September 2025, The Arab Blockchain Center (ABC) convened its Founding Roundtable, titled “Blockchain for Governmental Infrastructures,” at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Cairo. The event brought together leading figures from government institutions, academia, and blockchain enterprises to explore how blockchain can enhance transparency, trust, and efficiency across public-sector systems in the Arab world.
Bridging Innovation and Public Policy
The Roundtable served as a landmark gathering to align governmental vision with blockchain innovation, emphasizing the role of blockchain as a foundational layer for next-generation public infrastructures.
Attendees included representatives from the Mysten Labs, EMURGO Labs, xMoney, Pravica, and AASTMT, alongside policy advisors, banking leaders, and regional regulators.
Discussions focused on digital identity, cross-border interoperability, smart government services, and regulatory frameworks that enable safe and scalable blockchain adoption across the region.
Laying the Foundation for Regional Collaboration
The event marked the official launch of ABC’s strategic direction, centered around four operational pillars:
- Education & Research: Building academic programs and certification tracks for blockchain talent.
- Startup Launchpad: Supporting early-stage ventures building blockchain-based solutions.
- Enterprise Consulting: Guiding public and private institutions in blockchain implementation.
- PR & Events: Driving regional awareness, collaboration, and dialogue around Web3 technologies.
Participants agreed to form dedicated working committees under these pillars, establishing a roadmap for collaboration, pilot projects, and policy dialogue between regulators, enterprises, and educational institutions.
